I've researched discussions about this but these pictures may help me get it straight. I think I may have the seal in upside down, if the lip under the tin edges is supposed to fit in the rubber like the second shot. What a pain to install. Took a couple of hours inching along with a screwdriver. Used silicone but not sure it did anymore than make my tool slippery.

I've put a seal in before but it was on a S. beetle and the rubber was different as it overlapped the tin onto the beetle deck.

Saw a thread suggesting bus seal (H shaped) may be easier to install.
