Hello, i own a 1969 type 2 bus. The steering wheel has a wire coming out of its center, but it is not attached to anything. I am having trouble finding the correct horn contact ring and necessary bits. Can someone point me to one? I guess I need a kit that has springs, screws and washers? I believe I have found the horn button.
Thank you.

Thanks busdaddy. I ended up buying the 1) horn contact ring and 2) screw kit with springs and plastic washers and 3) the horn button from jbugs. Just search in their site for “horn”. You can get the button cheaper elsewhere, but they kill you on shipping.
I will take a look at the steering wheels you mentioned. You’re right mine is tatty.

Try to get your mind away from buying new mostly inferior parts if possible. The parts you just ordered are readily available through many sources and are original German. Thebusco.com is where I go almost exclusively. There are many others if you look plus the samba classifieds as Busdaddy pointed out. You’ll have to be able to email and phone these places as they won’t have a fancy website to order from. _________________ Lead Mechanic: San Diego Air and Space Museum
