Have you tried Wolfsburg West? Just curious how they are? Or does WCM make them for WW?
Anybody else use WW? _________________ Tim |

Got my stereo put in. I may not be able to drive it yet, but I can listen to the radio and use the Bluetooth to call people!

I found a backseat for my car finally. I had to drive about 4 hours to get it, but it was worth it. It was in pretty good shape. I sandblasted it and then painted it before putting new padding and upholstery on.
Here are a few pics.
Im trying my best to get this done before summer, but I am starting to worry about how much work I have left. |

Ive been able to do some things, but nothing much worth taking photos of at this point. I have lowered the rear of the car and got the padding in for the headliner. I got the seal and trim around the windshield and then got the speakers installed in the speaker tray.
I ordered an Airkewld beam with disc brakes for the front and then some Escra wheels from Bugganeers. Hopefully I will have some good photos soon!
Thanks for following and the kind words. It really helps keeping me motivated.

I got my wheels in and put one on the back and have found that its almost touching the spring plate. Not sure what to do at this point. Any suggestions would be great.

What is needed to switch over to longer axles? Also I have a beam and brakes on order with you. Please tell me these will work with it! |

The beam and brakes will technically work. They work better with a 3" beam when it comes to turning radius, but you will have a small reduction in that with a 4" before it hits the inner fenders.
1967 Axles, tubes and bearing caps would be ideal for the application to fit those wheels and early brakes. _________________ TheSamba members-only discount - Samba24

Just found this thread. Did you start this in '11? Not throwing shade, just wondering how long people's projects usually take?
I know all about loooooong projects. I have a SO42 camper I bought in 1993 or 94 and it still sits in pieces in my garage waiting for me to finish. You are miles ahead of me. Well done sir. Keep up the progress. |

Yeah this project has been a very long. Here is the story behind then length.
I wasnt happy with some of the work from the body shop which started this thread. Then my daughter had numerous health issues, which required a lot of travel and money. My wife had to have heart surgery. Then a had a lot of family members die including my dad, who was the person who got me started with VW's.
I cant forget the financial problems with numerous things and then I have battled health issues as well and recently have those mostly figured out. That is why I am back to work on the car. I just hope I can get this thing done for this summer. I want and NEED to be able to drive it.
My wife has already told me that I need a new project to work on after this. Shes a keeper! |
