Not very hard to make decent 36hp manifolds...I mean, if I can do it halfway, anyone can.
I used an old jack handle to make these. I likes the thickness of the metal, and it matched up with the Okrasa parts great.

Yes, it should be possible, but the creator of these fell short. The carbs are too close to the shroud - on the left the accelerator pump rod interferes, on the right he had to grind at the throttle shaft to get clearance. Being too close together the stock throttle linkage was too long, and was bent to compensate. The intakes are just a bit too short, so the throttle linkage hits the generator. All this can be overcome, but for the carburetors are not exactly horizontal. The left tips left, the right tips right. This means the carburetors can never be adjusted correctly. There would be only one point where they matched. If they matched at idle they would not open equally at full throttle. If matched at full throttle the idle would not match. _________________ - better to drive a slow car fast than fast car slow - |

That's very cool. I am about half way through making a set of custom manifolds to fit dual 28PCIs to my singleport 36hp, I had considered making a nearly straight manifold like that but went with a curved manifold to keep the carbs lower. Do you plan on installing it in a car? |
Not going to run it. It’s cool as history, but not for in a car. It would not run right even if I rebuilt the carburetors. And boy do they need rebuilding. Throttle shafts, accelerator pump levers, if it moved it’s worn out. _________________ - better to drive a slow car fast than fast car slow - |
