Is there a how to or a build thread covering repairing torn out top door hinge mounts? Top and bottom would be even better.
Thanks.
For context, I am picking up a 1960 and am trying to decide what to do with it. It is so contradictory, basically every major exterior body panel is creased and/or dented, the car is totally hammered, BUT i haven't come across a car with this little rust in 20? years. Basically the hinge repairs are the decider. |

That looks mangled.
I don't think you're going to be fixing that without more effort than replacing the whole section - and will probably yield better results.
I'd find a parts car and have the section cut out - more than you need - and graft that in. You'll have a very difficult time getting that metal back to shape and also getting the hinge installed in the correct location versus replacing that section. _________________ Mike

I cut out/shipped an upper A pillar hinge section from my squarebacks.
Don't cut out your bad metal until you have the replacement piece in your hands? _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts
