I appreciate the advice on the trans axle and I will leave the internals alone. We worked for an hour tonight on it, Stevie on the rear while I fought with the spindle nuts up front. He removed the axle shafts all by hisself which to some may not seem like much but it is awesome for him. I want him to do as much as possible so that at the end he can proudly say he built it with me and not just watched.

Boy, whoever welded that up really did a good job. Despite looking well used, that front beam doesn't look like it's going anywhere! I wonder if that had a fiberglass body on it at one time?

The wheel base looks too short for a conventional glass body.

Removed the whole rust floor pan. Just a few more things including the transaxle to remove and then the sandblasting and clean up begins.
