I'm going to shoot for Labor Day week-end I think if I start shopping now I could definitely get us some space! I need to start looking for a Venue!
Now do you want to do it in the BH or just outside? There is a lake called Angustura that is pretty nice. Low but nice camp sites. Within 40 minutes of Custer State Park. If we want some where like Custer people will have to call and reserve on their own due to payments up front.
LMK and I'll work it! Any later in Sept and it will be COLD. Early Sept is nice and warm day and cool nights. _________________ Anthony

Anthony, they both look like promising spots.
If I had a choice, early September would be it. Better weather and a better chance for a turn out.
I'll post a link to this thread on the N.U.T.S site to see what others think.

Cool Chris! How far is it from your area to here? Because I might make a trip out your way if it isn't 1500 miles one way. I'm working on saving some cash for gas to make it to BB 14. It's just real hard to justify spending $600 for 1 week-end of travel. Now if I can make it up to Canada I can fish while I'm there and head back. _________________ Anthony

Ok individual sites would cost more at the big pines place. See below

Our tent sites are $19.00 per night based on a family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 children under 12. Add'l persons per site are charged $3.00 each per night. Are these all families that are coming? How big are the tents? If I could get more specifics on your group, I may be able to give you a group rate rather than our standard rate. |
The $7 rate might apply depending on the size of our group!
Still waiting to hear from the other site. _________________ Anthony

This sounds like a GREAT idea. I've been to Mt. Rushmore and all over the black hills. Beautiful country. It's a bit of a trip for us in BC Canada but I'll post it up on the "airspeedparts forum". It could end up being the debut long haul for my '67 Riviera. Keep us posted. _________________

Thanks! I post more info as I get it. It would be real easy to do if I had definite answers, but it's hard when it's such a long trip. At least I'm starting now and not 2 months out. _________________ Anthony

It's 580 miles to Keystone for us. We're opting out of the 18+ hour drive to Great Canadian in Vancouver this year, so 10 hours to SD doesn't seem so bad.
Mowser, you should be able to do it in only 24 hours if you travel state side.
Maybe some of the Alberta crew could meet you part way?? It's going to be a haul that's for sure.

31 August - 3 September 07 in the Black Hills of SD. Do you think I should try to get some sponsors to throw some cash in for T-Shirts?
BTW if we use the 1st sight when has been real helpful with answering question we can get back area (tent area-top left) all to us! Yes it's only 10 sites, but the owner said a few of them can be doubled up. We would also get the $7 a day rate. Tomorrow I'm going to try and contact the other place. If know one cares I will use the 1st place and post a # so you can reserve now.

Yeah if I get sponsors the shirts will be FREE! Maybe I can get the site to kick in and put their URL or art work on the shirt too. I'm a crafty SOB. _________________ Anthony
