So, doing it on the cheap...it would be as simple as buying blank drums for my 66' having a machine shop re-drill them to 5x100 and installing a narrowed beam?

Anybody have any links for Drum blanks?
Looks like a 4" won't rub...how about the 6"?

Thanks for the help!

What's up Pete. I've just been working on my Aussie 59 beetle. I've got 16x6 fuchs up front with a 7 inch narrowed beam, and 17x7.5 fuchs in the rear for now. I've got a beat on another set of 17x7.5 fuchs for the front and then I'll ditch the 16's and run 17's all the way around.Good to hear from you Pete.

You need to run Disc's drilled to 5x100mm front and rear to make those happen. we have some.
rear http://www.airkewld.com/parts/proddetail.php?prod=FDK-5000T2
front http://www.airkewld.com/parts/proddetail.php?prod=FDK-5001T2

hope that helps!

can I just ask, might be a stupid question, but could you redrill the actual wheel to suit a wide five bolt pattern, on the outer disc that surrounds the 5x100 stud holes it looks big enough to actually drill a wide five pattern into it.....or not?

The outer ring on the rim is the right size to have a 5x205 pattern drilled on it, but is NOT reinforced (thick enought) behind it to support the weight of a car Crying or Very sad It is less than a 1/2" thick, while the mount flange behind the bolts is about 1 1/2" Rolling Eyes ... (already looked into that option Crying or Very sad )

how stoopid, that would make perfect sense, they could so easily manufacture these to fit wide 5!! I would love these on my beetle, but don't want to loose the option to also run stock smoothies....maybe I'll just stick with black 15in BRMs!

These are perfect... just run some adapters on em, and keep the wide 5 underneath... the offset on the 17 is for a FWD (front wheel drive) so they are shallower on the face (more rim lip on the inside) so an adapter will kick em out to a better offset (middle of the rim) so they wont rub on the inside (2 wide) Wink
