lever shocks and gearbox mounts

i`ve recently bought a 1950 deluxe barn find which is a complete and original car.my plans for now are to lower it and fit a set of rostyle wheels and drive it.
here`s where i get a little confused,will lowering the bug affect the rear shocks?
is it even possible to run these shocks on a lowered car?
if not what are my options here?is there some bracket available to convert it over to later telescopic ones?

also while i`m at it if i wanted to change the gearbox over to a later unit will the front mount need swapping for a late item or again is there a conversion kit available for this?

any help or advice here much appreciated.

Here's a conversion kit that was probably available already in the fifties. Have them done or make them yourself. I can take care of your too high riding levers.

as for the gearbox front mount anyone got any suggestions?
