Looks like a Nissan Frontier. Is that what it is?

Nope, it's one of those odd Chinese cars, called a Great Wall. I saw a few during my stay in Beijing.

Too bad the wheels are not centered in the wheel wells.
It's the details that make the difference between custom or abortion for some cars.

They just need to flare the rear out more in the back to match the look in the front.

BAD-ASS!!!

gees if it wasnt for that spoiler it would be O K
But i bet its fast as heck though

Looks like he needed the spoiler to mount the cooling system.
Too bad, because if they would have found a better location, this would be more killer than it aready is.
I love it. Cool

if the spoiler wasnt there that car would have the automotive equivelant of a turtle head pokin' out.

That car was built completely at home, so I guess it's fair to put it in this thread. Everyone's opinion differs as to what belongs in here and what doesn't, and I am of the opinion that race cars and extreme performance modifications don't really belong in here. I thought it was more about weirdo body modifications like halves of cars welded to each other, but what do I know?

But the truth is that it's got a lot of excellent work put into it, and it has retained as much "VW-ness" as you could expect from a bug with a Honda motor swapped into it. Stock IRS pan, VW disc brakes drilled to Porsche pattern, stock body (aside from a missing decklid and a drag wing). The wing serves three purposes, it houses the intercooler and it also keeps the car stable over 100mph on the drag strip, and it covers the motor which would otherwise stick back and look extremely goofy. Obviously, it's extreme. And it is very 'interesting', but not every bug out there can have a 6 inch narrowed beam and fuchs on it. There's plenty on it I would do differently, as I am sure is true with many other people, but I appreciate the hell out of that car.

He just made 370hp to the wheels this past week, on his second trip to the dyno. and that's on PUMP GAS, not race gas! And it's still got a lot more in it. With race gas, he can crank up the boost to some ungodly amount and make 450hp easily. As it sits, it makes 370 hp and can be driven down the street daily, comfortably, and very reliably. Even with unlimited funds, that'd be impossible with an aircooled bug engine.

Here's a build thread for that car, and a few choice pics showing the beautiful work done to it:

It's a stinkfoot hippie with a fat chick bus. Are you sure you would want to see the naked thing that would hang out with that combination?

This is gonna be odd coming from me, but I don't like it. The Vandetta kits were always a little too "swoopy" for my taste. The workmanship looks pretty good, but the stance sucks. Not into the murals either, but someone must like them. And $28,995 is waaaaay too much money. Oh well.....
