I'm new here at the samba and hoping to get some direction.
I have a 85 Turbo Diesel Jetta GL that needs help. After driving one day I noticed oil in the coolant reservoir. I drove home and it was black as oil in there!
I've been told the head gasket might of broke.
Any Ideas?
And what's the best corse of action?
Thanks

It's most likely either the head gasket or the oil cooler. _________________ '67 baja

I'm going to put my money on oil cooler. My '89 TD did the same thing. It was the cooler. _________________ '71 Tin Top Westfalia

Where is the oil cooler? I have an ecodiesel and am getting familiar with it currently. _________________ KK4NTP

Right where the oil filter screws on. The aluminum bit with the coolant hoses going to it. It's square. _________________ '71 Tin Top Westfalia
