Does any one know of a good body shop in Va. other than those Jerks at VW restorations. The person I talked to seemed to be a very un-happy person and I dont want them to work on my car. Any suggestions? The car needs rust repair on the rear quarter panels and the front inner fender wells on both sides. Typical rust on 63 bug. its in the areas where the heater channels meet the fender well. Thanks |

We are about 2 seconds from the line! The garage is next to Weber city and/or Gate city Virginia. That might be a long trip to take but, we'd still take your 63 in! Send some pics and maybe we can work out a price if you are still interested... _________________ • Metal Fab & Quality Suspensions, Type I-II-III. Since 2004 • |

interesting that you had the same experience as i did at vw restos in manassas. when they finally returned corespondence.( i called 4 times and emailed 4 times) the uncool guy basically talked me out of bringing them the car. they had no interest in my business. i thought maybe it was just i got the only jerk that worked there so i called back... no response.. to email or phone.. they don't give a damn.. turned out to be a good thing. i learned to do most everything myself. THOSE GUYS DONT CARE. WHY HAVE THEM SCREW UP YOUR CAR?
i am looking for a good painter in northern va. |

you're better off calling Ace German 703-490-5172. My '55 bug is there and so far I am pleased with what's been going on with them. Tim runs the show. |

I sent them a email and asked if they did media blasting. My question was never answered. But they did tell me to send some pics to them. What are they doing to your bug? Im lookink to have them blast, bodywork, paint, headliner. Ill do the rest. Im tying to restore my 63 back to good condtion just to have fun in Im not looking for a show stopper but I want it to look good. How expensive are they? They seem to have a good reputation from what Ive hanks for the number.

Roy...They are restoring my '55 bug. The pics are on their web site, ( the silver/blue one ) They are doing everything, told Tim all I want to do is put gas in it and turn the key when they are done. Don't know if they do media blasting. Best thing is to call with questions. Expense wise, do not know if it is considered expensive but he gave me a quote of 13.5 and they seem to be on target for that. The expense will be related to what you are having done. Give him a call. Let us know how you make out.
