Oh, that's easy. The United Kingdom.
They don't call it the "Imperial System" for nothing ya know!
The Brits were forced into the evil Metric system in 1995.
Also, Australia for a time, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, India, and Hong Kong (All RHD). Now just the States. |
Yes and No. Our (UK) weights and measures are now in metric, and our money system went metric (decimalisation) way back in the 70s. However, some things remain the same, our speedos and road signs are and remain in miles, and when in the pub, we buy our beer in pints.
Edit: By the way, we get more beer for our money, 1 imperial pint = 1.2009 US pints. _________________ 1965 Type 1 Deluxe (1200cc)

Hmm, I think I'd prefer to be in a metric country where beer is sold by the litre!
I know, in my dreams... |

Any decent Kraut bar will do this. There is a bar near me that sells up to 2 litres of beer... the "boot" glass.

Too funny
I got both parts on the Samba classifieds!
The headlight washer tank is from Pawel in Poland. I think it was only $60 plus shipping. I bought it from him a couple of years ago as pictured. I recently got a set of the matching Swedish bumper overriders with the spray nozzles from him to go with it, so now it is all going on the bus this coming spring. Pics of the overriders to follow (not impressive). |
still got 2 tanks for sale and just one ( right side override ) _________________ Pawel

And you are correct
"If it snows heavily where you live you may want to get a pair of these:
They were sold by the dealer (000 091 232) but you can still find them on eBay for about $40. Made in Germany and they fit 73-79 models."
To me they seem pretty useless, if buses had a need for it, we should be covering up the vents when it rained aswell. But I guess that is why they are rare |

I have a set of original brown walkthru pads (tops and sides) that came with my bus (68 Deluxe), how rare are those compared to the standard black? My bus had a special paint code which no one has been able to decipher as well (522807). _________________ RPM=(MPH*336* (R&P*4th*1.26))/Tire Diameter in inches |

I think you would be cutting off fresh intake air to a degree, but it should help your engine heat up on frosty days. I will try it and report back. I am going to use magnetic sign material on my '71. No chokes on my Kaddies and no thermostat either. I may get engine tin from Awesome Powdercoat to solve Thermostat issue correctly. The way snow blows in sideways around here, the vent mod would be very helpful. I've never had a raindrift in my vents before.... _________________ If you haven't bled on them, you haven't worked on them.

I had a set of similar material (silver vinyl) for my old 240 Volvo. They have a spring loaded hook that you pushed in and twisted 90 degrees with a screw driver. The hook hangs on the vanes of the intake grill. We call them a winter front in these parts and it's more about slowing the cold air intake than block snow from drifting in.
