My 1967 Daily Driver
Stock 1500, Stock transmision, Adjustable beam, dropped spindles, Kumho Ecsta ASX 205/60's in the rear and Kumho Ecsta AST 195/50's up front, all on Empi sprint stars. I drive 12 miles to work M-F and love it!
Wish list is a 1914, freeway flyer, narrow my beam so I can do discs up front. |

You don't need a freeway flyer, your 67 gearing is perfect for all around driving (even freeway) and the bigger engine. You may want to beef it up so you don't break it! I'd leave the gearing alone though. _________________ Pres. Rivercity VW Club www.rcvwclub.org

69 beetle 'vert
1641 DP with ICT's
stock trans
195-65's rear 165-80 front
Haven't checked MPG yet, but lots better than my Nissan Titan
6 miles one way, no freeway
On a nice day, top down, Jimmy Buffett on the stereo, BIG smile on my face
wish list: MORE POWER!!
EDIT.....Note: These are NOT the tires I'm now running. After sitting for three years during the rebuild these 205-60's were shit. _________________ I'm not losing my hair, it's just retired and relocating further south.

To and from work 5 days a week without a hitch. Just carry a spare quart of GTX under my seat and add a little oil every couple weeks as needed. Tank of gas depending on how I drive can last me almost 3 weeks. _________________ Stu

Bought a fresh 1500 from him in 1975. $230 installed in my '63 including my extra core, ran great. I'd blown my 40 horse 1500 miles from home. Bailed me out of a pickle, big time. |
