so does mine! the cloth interior would be the beige polka dot.

I wish I would have known the darker color was a possibility as the lighter is too much IMHO.

Thank you Flyertim!
you really cleared up alot of stuff for me Very Happy

Recently i have also seen some original oval seats,
with Coral colored vinyl sides
And white vinyl on the sitting area.
at a market website.

im guessing that would have been the leatherette version.

Also there are alot of different interiors in the gallery for the Coral Red cars

So i was confused with what would have been the original.

Thanks again Exclamation

My former L351 '57 had the original interior, which was light gray leatherette (Garwood called it Special Order color K169) with white piping. There was no two-toning, which I think was '58-'60 only. The coral red '56s and '57s had stitched pleating, not the heat-formed pleats found on '58 and later leatherette seats.

The other interior color offered on U.S.-market coral red ovals was "optional" K171 Light Beige leatherette (again according to Garwood).

However, since your car has semaphores, it most likely originally came with beige cloth as found on Flyertim's oval. Cloth interiors on U.S.-market, dealer-delivered VWs after 1952 are rare.
