I am looking for a GOOD high performance engine rebuilder in the SF area. I have a 2110cc in an old school 67 bug and the motor is in need good rebuild because of the many years of abuse at the strip and on the local streets. I have been out of the VW seen for a some years now and I lost all my contacts so if any one knows of a GOOD and I mean really good and knows all the newest tricks please send me the information. Could be a shop or some guy that works out of his house and builds race engines.

Thanks,

1 LOW 67

There's only a few people around I would trust. Ken Janson at Donsco in Belmont, Chris Hovey at Bugformance in San Jose and If you can get ahold of Ray from Volks Authority, He recently closed his shop in San Jose and has a smaller place now, but I don't know if he's set up to do any work. Good Luck!

For what it's worth, there is a VW repair shop in Concord, LaVeres VW's, that may be able to point you in the right direction. (925) 935-2580. They are friendly and always helpful...Good luck

Contact Buggy House in Hayward and see if they can recommend anyone otherwise go to CAl-Look.com and look up Jim Ratto and send an email to him-he has a pic of his 67 on the members section too.
