multiple front tires leave the ground situations....and i hit the front left corner on the ground suuuuuuuuper hard by misjudging a bumper and its backside drop off
trust me i think im as dumb as you think i am right now....i was just reminiscing through the first few pages of idiocy of this thread and drooling over what i used to have....GAH!
and thanks for being here with me the whole way jmstu....just realized you were one of the first to reply originally  hopefully youll stick around long enough to see me change my driving habits...

and finally....MY ONLY real breakdown that left me imobile....a CV joint   this time the circlip didnt get back on as it should, so the axle slipped out of the joint. i took it off, slid the joint back onto the axle, then flipped it around as the other side had one, and that way gravity would keep it together. had no problems after that!

Stu has had a few epic mishaps that I've experienced first hand. But through all of it, he has always kept his chin up. Dude has fun in his bus many couldn't understand. Nor should they try. It used to drive me nuts the silly stuff Stu would do with his bus. Until I got it. Stu's optimistic sense of life's challenges and his willingness to help others is second to none. I know that guy will always be there for me. Bus or no bus. Way to be brother, you're a good man. Get that girl straighten out soon. Now I shall poke a little fun at you.

So Stewy came over after work with his BA6 - e was jonesing to get it fired up. So we sat it down, plugged it in and he got it going! Nice, quiet sweet little runner.

So in explaining a little better of what we did.
Stuart has as seen - a BA6 that originally was in a Vanagon. The only things I saw that were different were plumbing - ducting things. Not the unit and or the wiring harness. I didn't do a side by side with mine so don't hold me to it.
When Stuart bought his heater - he made sure to get a complete one with the added bonus of working. Not sure if he paid extra for all that - but Stuart has a nose for finding deals.
Stuart simply wanted to see if the heater he bought two years ago actually worked. All the bits were plugged in - making sure the coil was plugged in correct - it was the only thing I saw that you could cross wire. All the grounds hooked up - there are a lot! And the power plugged in.
With all that and only the thermostat not really being set up correctly - not in heat stream - Stuart got her to fire!
All in all a nice quit clean runner - after we burned some nasty acidic smelling stuff out. Look for Stewy putting this in his Vanagon or his Broke Buck Mountain Bus.

Ba6 installed!!
Need to strap in the fan, fuel pump, and the coil, run a intake hose for the trigger fan, and run a 3"/2" coupler to the rear seat intake tube I'm gonna use for my recirculated air intake. Next I'll need to bolt it in, and fix a couple tubes for routing air....then just tee into the gas line and it'll actually be ready to go and drive with it

So for Christmas I decided to get some small things done so I can check a few things off the list....
first off, replaced the front heater tube with a non ripped up one...with new hose clamps to keep it on tightly.
then decided to install new heater cables, run along side my old ones since the tubes decided to weld themselves to my old cables. gotta figure out why they are binding, but they are installed finally after 4 years!
finally swapped this annoying little booger out...now my slider works properly again! since I use it a lot while its sitting this is very nice to finally have done
after 6 or 7 years I finally replaced these stripped out window knobs
