Painted front beam in black urethane, so we are ready to replace bent one on car. Since the body is not bolted down, we are going to remove it and will have easier access to replace front beam. Got the dist back from Ed Fall, he did a great job on it, will post pics of it.

Beautiful work you guys are doing on this Sunroof, and a great paint choice!

Thank you sir for the compliment. Work on car is going to stop at this time. Our father passed away this past weekend , so we have to take care of family matters. Will be back on car soon. |

Went to motor builder yesterday and he is working on assembling 54 motor. He should have it finished soon. Starting on sunroof mechanism, have soaked all hardware to disassemble, will get everything cleaned up and painted. Went to Wolfsburg West and bought most everything that was needed to finish car. Will be working on more frequently and hoping to have car finished by the end of summer for the Treffen in September.

Had my friend come and help me change bent front end with a good 53 one that I had refinished. also installed motor, bleed brakes and finished the wiring. We finally bolted body to chassis and attached steering column. It has been five years since I started this project but we are getting closer to completion.

Nice work, keep at it! I'm looking forward to seeing it in a few weeks at the SoCal Treffen. Bring it, even if it isn't quite finished! Nice dedication!

Not much has been happening on car. My brother has been saving for installation of interior. I have not been able to work on car due to other projects. I did finish the running boards and will get the bumpers together also. Still have to rebuild the rag top mechanism, not looking forward to doing it. Trying to finish car before the end of the year.

Belairman-
Who plated your case? Was it very hard to obtain a color you liked?
Cheers,

That is a great job love to see the "no stone unturned" progress thru those years.
My first car was a 54 3fold. drove it all over the country - got it for graduation in 63 and ran it till the trans died in 68 here are some reference pics - will try and find the roof rack pics- you still putting the rack on?
So as you see have real interest in how well your project is going and it looks beautiful. Ps -anybody buy a 54 w busted trans in Susanville? _________________ some days I get up and just sit and think. Some days I just sit.

Wow , very nice build and a very nice color as well. Car is stunning and I hope to one day catch a glimpse of this car in person. Any updates on the car? Has it hit any shows yet or is it still in the completion stages of the build? Keep the updates coming. |
