Hello from Finland.
I have been reading this forum for years and got an answer for many VW question, but now i had to register and make a question because i didn't found answer anywhere.
So I bought a 5x205 rear disc brake set for my project 1963 beetle.
I am interested if someone knows something about this set. Is it maybe a factory made for beetle, or maybe somebodys DIY set, but especially im interested about those calipers. Where are those from?
If that LMT, what reads in caliper even is a brand, it is very well hidden. I havent found anythin about that related to brakes.
Those cali's are very light. Something alu alloy. Very nice quality castings.
52,4mm pistons.
Handbrake using possibility.
Maybe these very light calipers are different pair with those brake discs because they are very heavy, hubs are made of cast iron.

Never seen that type before. I don't think I'd bother with rear disc.
I have two cars, one with disc fronts and drum rear. The other has drum all around. The only real difference in the two is the fact that I don't have to adjust the front brakes on one, there is very little performance difference. |
