|
|
I picked up a rust bucked 68 single cab today. it has sat in the weather fro 20 years but all of it parts were removed and "prepped" for paint and have sat in a garage for those 20 years. The guy has the parts scattered in several storage areas but today I brought home the gates, front bumper , treasure chest doors, rear apron ,front emblem, deck lid, a sapphire playtape 1, various odd ball parts that were from the truck and other buses. The truck it self has straight rear corners which are scheduled to be cut off and sent to Gerson for reproduction templates.
The gates are pretty nice, story goes that an Insulation company bought the truck in the late 70's and took the gates off to use the truck as a flat bed and stuck the gates in storage I'll go back for the truck and the rest of the parts this weekend
What has anyone else scored lately? _________________ -Bryan

never thought i would find one for my truck; don't know if i'll keep it tho as my truck isn't a prime resto special.
that truck is an awesome find; i would be interested if you found a wiper arm and treasure chest lock you would be willing to part with...

Scored an early sunroof bay a couple weeks ago:
Good job donating that metal to Gerson. I didn't know he was doing bay window panels now? |

I picked up this 71 sitting in a field for $50 the day before it was to be crushed. It hadn't been on the road since 82.

Interior is an off-white/ greyish color and the color was Niagara Blue. Hopefully it'll be that color again soon. _________________ 1985 Diesel Jetta Coupe (temporarily retired at

I found my bus or it found me when the next door neighbor asked me if I could make it run, it had been sitting in the garage for 6 years w/ a new rebuilt engine in it, that had never run for more than a few seconds at a time (carb issue). Then he asked if I knew anyone that might buy it for $900! Score! _________________ Rick '71 Westfalia & '73 Thing |

You never said what you scored them for.
I'm guessing it was less than the $1,500 you are selling them for.

It wasnt cheap. the guy knew what he had but I need the odds and ends parts for my DC and my wifes campers.
The rest I will sell to try to recoup the cash I laid out.
Anyone know what funky green side gates sell for? I just threw out a number and figured I would adjust as needed _________________ -Bryan

Guy I randomly met has a Westy that’s been sitting since 1980 when it was totaled. Complete (even a set of OG curtains). Been going back once a week to strip parts off. It’s been fun!
Only cost me a half-rack of beer and the time needed to scare the raccoon out from his home underneath and mask up for the rat $#!t inside.
Pictures of some stuff I’ve gotten so far….
Upper cot and net were never used.
bonus on the sink cap, seatbelt hangers, curtain set and sapphire IX..... |
