New beetle dune buggy?

Hi, in June I whent to Playa Del Carmen and saw a Dune buggy that look like a new beetle. By the info I could have, the fiber mold have been molded near Mexico. Can somebody help me to find one. maybay just the fiber... thanks. Photos will be posted later...

I was told that there was one "on the way" also by a tour company in the islands made from the new beetle. They told me it was being made in Peru.... Dont know if that helps or not...

Was it a rental car/buggy thingy? Have steps made into sides? They are posted here from time to time. I believe that although they have a newer style beetle look they are actually on an aircooled chassis. May be talking about something else.

I brought back pictures of those when in Cozumel last year - the machine that I was told about is an open top F/G buggy, water cooled, similar to my post last month about the Toyota water cooled rail buggies...

Yes it was a rental car and the one I saw was bleu, but a freind saw a red one. But I think the base is still aircooled....

I found that it was unveiled at a 2003 Mexican Auto Show... I dont read or speak Spanish too well, but there was the caption under the picture.

That is the coolest new beetle i have ever seen! My wife is dying for a NB, but i can;t stand to have one in the driveway. Looks like a comprimise!

I found a site that was selling a ne kind of body like a manx it was made in Australia i believe. called ???? panther or python something like that. i cant find it anymore. has any one seen it? i think it was a cammo paint job with the lights molded into it a modern light looked like evil eyes. was really cool.
