I was told that there was one "on the way" also by a tour company in the islands made from the new beetle. They told me it was being made in Peru.... Dont know if that helps or not... _________________ Flaboyjim

Was it a rental car/buggy thingy? Have steps made into sides? They are posted here from time to time. I believe that although they have a newer style beetle look they are actually on an aircooled chassis. May be talking about something else. |

I brought back pictures of those when in Cozumel last year - the machine that I was told about is an open top F/G buggy, water cooled, similar to my post last month about the Toyota water cooled rail buggies... _________________ Flaboyjim

I found that it was unveiled at a 2003 Mexican Auto Show... I dont read or speak Spanish too well, but there was the caption under the picture.

When I heard your description, this is what came to mind. It's the only New Beetle I'd roll. Somewhat, dare I say, Thing-like. |
