I'm a long suffering Met fan, although they've been playing better as of late. Only 1.5 out of first! (sad) _________________ -=Rob

I was a Pirate fan until the current ownership group took over and decided to be the rest of the league's farm system. Mario Lemieux tried to buy the team, but the current group said no way. Until new ownership takes over all I have to say is: Go Giants! _________________ 72 Super Beetle

I also am a Pirate fan, born in Pittsburgh, even attended 1960 World Series Game #7 and have my ticket autographed by both Bill Mazeroski and Harvey Haddix.
Besides wining WS also in 1971 and 1979, Pirates should've made it to World Series in 190, 1991, and 1992 but Barry Choker Bonds choked big time in the post-season; and in 1992 Drabek threw a perfect strike for strikeout to end the Game #7, Drabek was walking off the mound, umpire apparently didn't want the game to end that way, called a ball, and Drabek lost concentration and Pirates ended up losing that game. _________________ 1970 VW (owned since 1972) and 1971 VW Convertible (owned since 1976), second owner of each. Man, I'd love to have this guy, he's a monster

Ryan Howard will remain in a Philadelphia Phillies uniform through the 2016 season after agreeing to a five-year extension worth an average of $25 million per year.
The slugging first baseman has agreed to a $125 million extension that will kick in starting with the 2012 season. If the team picks up its option for the 2017 season, Howard could earn $138 million. |

Thats awesome. My dad has game 7 on cassette. When we drive up to Beaver Falls from VA we always listen to it and high five each other when Maz hits the game winner.
I was on the subway in DC last summer and some Yankee fan looks at my Pirate cap and says "26 world series," and points to his hat. I said "1960." He got red and shut up. _________________ 72 Super Beetle

Each October 13th, they replay the radio broadcast of that game at the wall remnants of Forbes field, in "real time". This October, on 50th aniversary of that, should be special, hope Mazeroski can make it. Both were amazed that I still had that ticket. Haddix (winning pitcher of that game) signed it in 1979 in San Diego when he was Pirates pitching coach, and Mazeroski signed the ticket and my '60 series program in late 1990s, and I have a photo of him and me there. _________________ 1970 VW (owned since 1972) and 1971 VW Convertible (owned since 1976), second owner of each. I'd like to follow a team that's local to my area, but that would be either the Orioles or the Nats...
I have liked baseball since I was a kid. I really just enjoy a good game, no matter who's playing. The first game that I ever went to was a 1967 game between the Orioles and the Twins with my Cub Scout troupe. There were some truly great players on both team rosters; the Orioles had Davey Johnson, Boog Powell, Brooks and Frank Robinson, and Paul Blair, and the Twins had Rod Carew, Harmon Killebrew, Rich Reese, Cesar Tovar and Tony Oliva. I wish I could remember more about it, but I was seven and all that I remember is that it was fun and Memorial Stadium in Baltimore was huge to a 7 year old kid in a Cub Scout uniform. _________________ Mike

Angel/Dodger fan here. And I'll decide who I like more when they meet in the world series. I go to both stadiums to see each team play regularly. _________________ '62 Rag Top Bug

Been a Mets fan for 27 years. In the Central I like the Cards and out west, even thought I rooted for the Giants when I lived in SF, I like the Dodgers. The American league can suck it. _________________ HBB
