I've never been called for jury duty, ever. I'm a registered voter, registered for the draft, but never asked to serve, weird, huh?

I will correct myself here. The CA age cutoff for medical excuses (non doctor written) is 70 years, not 65 as I posted. I guess I have another 4 or so years to sweat--I'll readily go if it's Norwalk or even Compton--just no more LA if at all possible.

OJ did it.
Peterson did it.
The other Peterson did it too.
Robert Blake did it.

Yes, this seems weird to me since I know you are late 60s? so that's a long time.

You probably just jinx'd it though Smile

On the "waste of public funds" issue, it seems that getting justice these days for petty crime is nearly impossible.

We live in a rural area and the last few years there has been a lot of "grab and dash" in yards and fields. Often there are clear cut identification of perpetuators but it all gets swept under the carpet due to the paperwork involved and the fact that the courts do not seem to be able to make anything stick with these habitual offenders.

A couple years back there was a fellow cornered by a couple brothers when he was going through their field pickup for tools. The police and an ambulance were called and by the time they got there 8 neighbors were on site that gave police reports that they had all seen the guy fall and hurt himself badly...

No charges were laid, no jury needed, no time and public money waisted and the local crime rate went down. Seems a pity that this is the only real solution we have now.

^^^^ That is justice^^^^^

2 rules in all human societies through out the ages

1- Give as good as you get

2- Be an unpredictable retaliator when harmed

Call the ambulance not the cops.
