Love the blue one with the Porsche slots.

Reminds me of the Brazilian Dacon Ghias raced by the Fittipaldi brothers.

I love this car. Read a lot about the history of it as well.

When I designed the blue car I used a lot of components from other cars
The slots are actually from a 67 corvette and reversed.

Hello,
I am completely in love with this story and have done nothing but think about it
for a couple of days now. Very Happy
How are things going, is it slowly beeing realized?

I like the design work madfish has done, in particular the blue car,
the reason is that the roof has been lowered, giving it a more racelike look.
The lower roofline fits better with the fairly short spacing of the front/back wheels.

I wonder however if the roof is lowered about 15 cm (6 inches) would it be space left for the
drivers head? (Looking at your "test" images it's looking cramped already.) Smile

I was thinking since David Small (the original creator) had a VW/Porsche dealership he would
most likely use parts from these cars, so I had that in mind while searching for usable parts.

Using the modified lowered height that madfish had on his car I started with a 550 spyder but it
looked to much like a 550 wich wasn't a surprice realy... Wink

This design is using parts from 2 cars.. well 3 with the Karmann roof.
Front and back is 1964 Porsche Carrera 904 GTS, middle section with doors are from
the 1955 550 spyder.
I'm hoping that 1964 isn't to new a design for when he could have finished the car.

Using reproduction bodywork from these 2 type of cars to make a new one, would obviously
create a bit of work where the 904 front/rear panels meet the 550 middle section.
But it looks like it's possible.

I took the liberty of making a logo for the car aswell. Smile

the original silver one is great but it looks fat, the blue one is nice but doesn't seem quite right, the others either look like another known car or just aren't so good.... so I find myself strangely liking this one, I think it's the sweeping front fenders...

That looks really cool! I'm curious what it'd look like from the front.

thanks for putting them all together Eurodub. thanks also to Macaulay for the 904 inspired design... liking that a lot. The blend of different body styles/parts works surprisingly well. The ghia roof works really well with the more aerodynamic bodywork of the 904.

I've finally got back into the workshop and fitted up the 550 Spyder bodywork. I'll try and post the pictures later this week. Cheers, Steve

I am excited to see how that will look.

Did have a little look at how things could be underneath the "boot".
Won't be any fast engine swaps in the pit anyway! Very Happy

The last blue and silver ones are my favorite, need to do something with goofy exhaust on the blue one though.

It's good and bad at the same time. Very Happy

This is the 550 body I made first, maybe it's going to look something like this,
well if the roof was lowered.
