Looking through a local swap guide, someone is listing a 1954 Convertible, sat in barn for years, needs complete resto, $2000.00.
I have been calling for the past 5 hours... its busy---- ahhhhhhhhhhhh
I am just hoping its a 54, not like misprint, 64. Its about 5 hours downstate but I would make the drive no matter what time of the day--- damn! |

Ya no kidding. Guess what? Just got off the phone with them. They are sending me pictures, good chance I will go pick it up tomorrow... this is crazy. Its complete too--- everything there all original from Germany back in 54. Get this ready? Stored since 1962. Her parents owned it, therefore they died and it makes her the original owner... |

Congrats Man! I had a very similar experience when I bought my 56' vert. I didn't sleep for a couple days and took off work to be the first one there with cash in hand. I'd go camp out in front of dude’s house with the money, like I was waiting in line for playoff tickets. Be careful though, once you get it, all the smiling really starts to hurt your face after a couple of days. Good Luck!! _________________ DBK Nor Cal

Exactly what happened to mine. Bought my 55 vert (unrestored), with 35,000 OG miles, from the original owner for $2,200.
Now look at her...

Mine didn't look like that when I got her. Tons of work went into her. This is her after I picked her up...

There are a few split convertibles up in New England. Right off the bat, I know of one in Vermont. _________________ Kevin "Wiggy"

Yes I know of that one too.
I don't know anyone in Maine with the club or anything that has one, but I know someone here that has a 1956. I think there is a 53 in Mass. |
