I dont have the money to buy him out, but I bet it could be done.

Kerry Vierra was my gf at/around that time. She had regular plates on her car when RK wanted to shoot it, so I let her borrow my old plates for the shoot. Look at the year the tags expired compared to the year it was featured.
Last I knew it was rotting away in their front driveway. Damn shame, I have lots of good memories from that time.

Aside from the gas prices, driving from one side to the other doesn't bother me much .. but I only moved here from California last year so I'm not exactly "naturalized" to Portland habits and mindset yet.
Hell, I'm still stuck in the North Bay mindset of "don't take the freeway if you want to get anywhere". |

Ive said it many a time. Interstate VW in Lake Elsinore, CA HAS in stock many T3 pans. Sorry they are not in your back door but they do have a shit load. Hell if any of you are serious and do make it to the point where you have actualy spent money on procuring one, Ill go there and help ship the dang things.(read: cut pan halves off back bone and wrap up) As far as getting ahold of them, paying for them you are on your own. There is no shortage of rust free pans, yet. Just takes some time and effort getting them. _________________

Hey Martin. Since you know Keri Viera I'll let you in on a little secret. I sold her that car. It was my first square and car ever. That was my old Lime Green square that I got when I was 16 and it was a Pigalle car when I got it. But back then no one knew about that stuff and I hate red so I threw it all away in the trash and busted the Cal look velour on it. When you come down for Kelley Park next year I'll show you some pics. I am thinking of having a BBQ on Saturday for those who dont go to BYOB. _________________ Frank

original question:
rarest type 3 parts..
for me it took forever and a day to find those 'ever so hard to find' muffler bearings for the early 61-63 cars..
finally i found them on ebay in an original box, i was the only one how bid on them however the starting price was $320.. so i thought it was a steal..
i never did use them to repair my muffler before selling my notch..
muffler bearings anyone??

Martin, the cat's eye was not an accessory. Oh yeah, stop bragging....j/k I'm just jealous.
Just for the record, white interior finger plates in good condition are hard to find. _________________ '68 Lotus White T34 automatic sunroof

67-only window winders are kind of uncommon. Since these are also used on 67-69 Type 34s, I had a bit of trouble finding them . _________________ 1969 Type 34 automatic |

I have several pans I can't get rid of.
From time to time I sell some repair pieces.

They are the same as '67 onlt T1's I thought !
Seems to me you US guys have more trouble finding common original parts than we in Europe.
I mean, if you don't have the air filter clamp or dual carburettor wing nut some PO must have trown these away.
On the other hand, interior stuff wears by using it.
I have a lot of the regular stuff in my stock. I can't get it shifted over here.
Not many T3 nuts over here.

I sold the last of the trinkets I had, haven't talked to Gregg anymore about selling his parts at all. Don't think he's interested either in selling anything anyways. He does have pretty much everything that's been listed in this thread so far though (think I read 1 thing he might not have, but don't remember what it was). I remember saving all those buttons that go over the door panel screws and had a drawer/bin for each color. Teak and pigalle included.

He's not lying I helped her strip the interior when she was getting ready to have the new interior put in and I found several traces of pigalle interior. _________________ Patrick

Haven't been around too much, but thought I'd throw in my .02 on the issue...
Top 3 hard to find items are: ('69 model year)
Sunroof plastic parts
Useable Fastback popout rear quarter window seals
VDO accessory T3 tachometer - always wanted one of these! The kind that really match the speedo.
Honorable mention goes to... an undented lower rear valance panel.
Regards,
