Picked up this bus over the weekend and the transaxel made noise all the way to my house. Pulled it out to put a good one in and this is what I found.
I've never seen a tranny is that bad of shape. _________________ 59 DD panel. Former Romano's TV delivery bus

The bus came from the rust ferry.
Got it from a dude in Mesa. The bus has changed hands several times in the past few years. I first saw it in like 2000 or 2001 when it was owned by some Scottish guy and it was in the dirt in his back yard. He used it for storage. At that time the bus was only $400 but too much of a project for me. Now that I have a stock pile of parts from two wrecked buses, I figured it was a good enough deal to get it on the road. Besides the surface rust, the bus is very solid. They only cancer is in the passenger side rocker. All floors, battery tray and everything under the bus is rock solid.
Looking for some pop-outs, door handles, front shift rod and more. If you have any idea where I can get any of these parts, cheap of course, please let me know. _________________ 59 DD panel. Former Romano's TV delivery bus

I have seen that happen to a tranny before. the one that I saw was split in half the same way from a guy revving up his singleport 1500 and dumping the clutch to try and squeel his tries. _________________ .

I'd call it a 'fuct-case' tranny. _________________ Organized people are just too lazy to look for stuff

That happened to a freind of mine too, he was mad and jumped in the bus and dumped the clutch too fast. The 1600's massive torque was too much! Made it a true split case! _________________ Gary

Done it myself! Prolly learned it from my brother! He did one so bad that the bus would only move in reverse to engage the differential!
I'm surprised you actually got to drive it! _________________ Some people are so busy being clever they don't have time enough to be wise. |
