|
|
Broadway Title Co currently has a 10-12 week backlog on their lost title service.
Anyone know of any other companys that offer a Lost Title service similar to Brodway's (who dont have a 12 week leadtime).
Thanks.

What state are you in? I know Ca is investigating those title companies, and some other states are starting to do so as well.
Most states have a process through the DMV to get another title issued. It may take a while more, but it will be 100% legal. _________________ <---Air Cooled Search & Rescue Team - STICKERS & T-shirts for sale!

Hey there.
Not trying to do anything illegal. Just trying to get a title issued for a vehicle that has never had one issued.
The DMV is not interested in helping me without a MSO- Hard with a 40 year old vehicle.

broadway title is completely legal if you live in a state that accepts registrations and a bill of sale. some states don't. consult broadway titles website for states that don't allow their services.
it's legal in pennsylvania, that's all i care about. _________________ Extravagant Lifestyle

| Does anyone know if there have been issues transferring titles to states like CA. that were issued in another state using broadway titles? In other words, if I get a broadway title here in Oregon, and sold the bus to someone in CA, would they have an issue with the CA DMV? |

I know my friend in Arizona had a hard time, they did accept it though. _________________ ---

As far as I know, No. California is pretty leinient....and has no problem issuing titles without paperwork provided you bring the vehicle in for a VIN inspection. |

I do not think the "new" state title (i.e. CA) is linked to the title for the "Old' state (i.e. Oregon). I think CA uses the Oregon title as the basis for issuing a new title.

If you're in CA and the Bus is off the system, all you need is a bill of sale and a VIN verification from the DMV. It takes literally about 20 minutes, tops.
I've done it plenty of times. |

| The great thing about ITS is their turn around time and the fact that you can pay a little bit more and even get them to send you the license plates in your name which Broadway doesn't do. |

I just used International Title Service this month for my 65 deluxe.
www.its-titles.com
800-543-8626
This went quick and perfectly at least for me in Missouri.
Here is what I did:
1) Went to their website and printed out the forms.
2) Filled out the info, with credit card # for $150.
3) Mailed the forms to them on 1/31/06.
4) 2/15/06 I received a nototized bill of sale, Alabama registration and
Alabama's DMV letterhead with "letter of title exemption" for no
titles on vehicles prior to 1974. My DMV lady was thankful for the
"letter" as it saved her time to go look it up and copy it.
5) Since my 65 has no engine I had to have a County Sheriff come by
yesterday and fill out a "VIN verification" form and he called in the
VIN to check if it was stolen. It was not. He even checked the CA black
plate # with a 1981 sticker on it and came "up not in system".
6) Went to the DMV this morning and NO PROBLEMS! I registered for a
title and I should have it in 3-4 weeks.
I would highly recommend I.T.S. to anyone needing a title.
I called Broadway Title and they said 8 weeks for what I.T.S. got me in 2. _________________ 1979 Type-2 Westfalia “Sandy”

Yep,
I ended up using ITS too. Highly recomended. You actually get someone on the phone. 10 Day turn around.
Same prices as broadway.
