I've been batting around with a couple guys here in Denver an idea about organizing something with a unique theme. Having never been involved in this sort of thing before, I figure I'd ask before getting in too deep. Biggest thing I've ever organized was a Cub Scout campout.
So, I guess my questions are around sponsorships and marketing. Aside from the obvious, what have you guys done to encourage sponsors and attendance? _________________ No boom today. Boom tomorrow. There's always a boom tomorrow. |

It's great when the show is successful, not so great when it is not!
Plenty of thankless work to be done, securing the venue, promoting, attaining sponsors, getting some other people to help, etc. Some shows have been put together by a single person and though it obviously can be done, it usually gets the one person burned out fairly easy.
Do a search, for this has be covered and re-covered before. Also do a search for any or all of the "established" shows in the shows/events forums to see what kind of feedback the show goers give. This info will be very useful in putting on any show since you'd already know what NOT to do!
Good luck! _________________ Some people are so busy being clever they don't have time enough to be wise. |

Thanks pyrO. I've been searching here, but not finding much. I'll keep trying. Must be the words I've been using. heh
I have found a couple things, though so I must be on the right track. _________________ No boom today. Boom tomorrow. There's always a boom tomorrow. |
