Both of them are checked against milemarkers and GPS. The thing definitely gets sub-20 and the truck is right at 20.

96.66 ci = ~1583cc, the second one is 1584. Always rounded to 1600cc. Now the compression ratio is different, 7.3 as opposed to 6.6.. I believe the second is from Mexico (VWM in bottom right corner, the other says printed in USA).

1641, kads, TTS exhaust, 009 electronic, VERY aggressive tires:

14mpg average here. rough roads (lots of "off road"), steep hills, tight corners, heavy foot.

20mpg flat out on highway, 65-70mph sustained...top up or down, windows in, four adult occupants and luggage.

'95 chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 long bed extended cab...9 (indifferent to variables).

Cruise at 60-65 on highway and get 24mpg best.
Around town with the gas heater rocking = 18mpg worst.
Not too shabby Very Happy

1973 with 165r15 summer radials (terrible in snow btw - lol) stock AV transmission:
1835cc (engle 100 or 110 cam forget which offhand) with stock solex 34pict3 and dvda:
24-26mpg summer around town driving
21-24mpg winter around town driving (generally in serious need of a tune up by winter time).
Totalled avg (total miles divided by total gallons) 24.1mpg

Previously was running a worn out 1600 with less than 80psi compression on number 3 and way too much endplay:
34pict3 with 009: 19mpg
34pict3 with dvda: 24-25mpg

Bump.

I have never really broken 20mpg and my daily average has been a consistent 15mpg average regardless of "tuning"...as mentioned above.
I've recently tossed my TTS split exhaust and gone with the Tri-Mill and have been tweaking the tuning to accommodate the change. I just got 26.3mpg on the way home from Kelley Park...running the freeway without traffic at 65-70 MPH. Wow! The new exhaust just paid for itself.

I've been at 21-23 MPG for years with 88x74 (1800cc).
Just averaged a little over 22 MPG at ~68 MPH over a 1200+ mile trip.
That boy in Cleveland GA really knows how to build an engine!
Good luck, Mondshine

1600 SP, standard CR, I am getting 25-27 mpg on road trip, pushing it to 70 mph

Don't know how it is on USA, but here en Europe we get 2 types of regular gas, 95 and 98, with the only difference that the first one has 15% alcohol added. I tend to use the one without alcohol.

[Edit: after writing this I did some research, looking for technical info on gas. I find very few, but seems that both 95 and 98 have the same ammount of ethanol (10% in vol) but 98 has 20% in vol of MTBE. I further read that MTBE is avoided in USA]

That's a good question...

Has anyone noticed any changes to their mileage since the ethanol has been added to US Fuel?

I run the 89 octane in the winter and when it's above 90F in Austin, I tend to run the 93 octane, just because I feel my engine is running warmer and so the increased octane seems to help a bit.

I haven't bothered to measuring my mileage because my week day commute includes a huge (read I drop to third before I'm at the top) hill and tons of stop lights. I'm sure it's hell on my mileage.

10% drop, once ethanol(garbage) was introduced.... Rolling Eyes

I try and find real gas(100%) when possible.... Otherwise, I run Seafoam fuel treatment in every tank, to battle the effects of the Corn...

Eathanol is just pure evil, I buy 100% gas when I can, one station on the other side of town. Or if I have extra cash I'll put ave gas in it 100 octane low led=happy hot rod engine. 1835 dual webbers 110 cam big valve heads hight compression 91 or higher needed. I don't remember voting to add corn to our gas, it was decided for us! I think if people knew the facts ie less mileage, destroys engines raises corn prices. We could get rid of it, but most people believe the bullshit they are fed
