Here's some photos of my 2110 with CB fuel injection and Denso alternator conversion that is fully adjustable. Also notice the heater outlets and oil tube are gone. I just got it running yesterday

I made the brackets and requires machining of the fan housing. I also used a modified billet aluminum alt pulley that is used on nascar engines.
As I felt the denso pulley was to small. |

so each time you add oil ...you have to unscrew the two bolts on top? |

Well its not like its going to burn oil. You`ll only have to do it when you change oil. _________________ If you`re going to do something, do it right. |

Nice, I would realy like more details an the alternator, How many amps? what exactly did you use and what needed to be fabricated and how? I can get a few things done at work as I just don't have tools anymore like I used to. Any pics of how you did it? |

Nice work! I like the shorty fan housing
Two recommendations:
1. Move the coil to a cooler location. On top of the case isn't a good spot and coils need to keep cool. I'd recommend moving up to an after-market ignition system when you can to get even more power;)
2. Try to get taller air filters if you can. Makes a noticable difference in power output with more air filtration area...BTDT. _________________ Toby http://www.aircoolednut.com/

There are no other air cleaners that will fit under the lid. I don`t think it makes much difference as I have ran my car without filters for tuning and it feels the same with then on or off. _________________ If you`re going to do something, do it right. |

I dropped 1/4 inch on my air filter height and felt the power loss. See if you can find a slightly taller air filter; it just will make taking the air filter tops off a little more challenging. Mine are VERY close to touching (but aren't) the engine lid surround. I understand engine dynamics/physics as well and know from that perspective that the lower surface area creates a restriction, too. I bet if you put it on a dyno you'd see the difference as you're engine is only 103cc bigger than mine _________________ Toby http://www.aircoolednut.com/

very nice!
where do you get those dizzy wires that are bent 90 degrees?
im curious as to how your fan shroud mods affect the airflow? i know there was a thread on how beetle motors work better with the original heater ducts as opposed to the removed ones, just wondering if you looked into that? My shroud has the ends plugged.
how do you like the fuel injection kit? my friend is putting the same kit in his beetle.
again, your motor looks very nice! |
