I went to install my trailing arms this weekend but I am having a bit of a problem with the pivot arm bushing spacer location. In the shop manual and other publications it says to put a spacer on each side of the bushing but I am sure mine came with the two spacers on the outer side of the bushings. I see some pictures on the net showing the spacers on the outside but no explanations. Does anybody know for sure the proper placement of the spacers?

Thanks,
Jeff......

Stock position is both on the outside, they are used to adjust the position of the trailing arm in relation to the transmission.

Jeff I put mine both on the outside. The theory is that they will act somewhat like a thrust washer. You might even grease the inner side of the washers. Make sure you loctite that bolt too!!!

They are also used to adjust the toe on the rear suspension.

Thanks for the replies guys! I was sure both of mine were on the outside when I took them apart. I will make better notes next time.

Regards,
Jeff.....

Mine were on either side when i took them apart. should I return them the same as they came off ? or put both on the outside which seems to be the more popular way ?
