I was looking at my catr the other day after putting on a few odd fenders from my pile of parts so I could sell the car and noticed that one front fender was different. Shocked

One fender, front. from the body to the outside fender edge just above the center of the hobcap was about 1 3/4" wider than the other one. I don't mean wider like a new fiberglass fender just that the metal wraps around towards the tire more. The bigger one also had more definition where the runningboard bolts up. It is a 59 or older fender because of the 'headlight wiring tube-metal. It has no turnsignal like the 56/7 has.

Does anyone have an idea what year it's for and where can I get one to match for the other side, passenger.

Thanks, Roger

Don't have an answer to your question but there is a bit of a debate going on on another forum about changes to fenders (wings here in the UK) between 1953 and 1960. Would also be very interested in views on the changes on wing shape, dimensions etc. between these years.

Denz is pretty accurate on that. Earlier fenders are infact wider and have more contour, including the bump down at the bottom that matches the running board as if it flows into the shape of the running board.

Maybe I am not making myself clear. The tricky photo thing dosn't help either.

It's the yellow fender with more definition over the early 60's white one.
