Looking for any one that Races on the strip the Type 3 oo3 full Auto Trans .I would like to ask you some questions on the Trans .

Can These run with a 2332 and with Stock clutches without Damage right away from Driving them to Hard ,if So , What are they uaseing to keep them from going through Clutch Packs every 8 thousand Miles? Kevlar Lined? if so where can these be found or done ?Thanks for your Help  |

They are using the extra clutches from a Type 2. Type 2 guts will fit right in a T-3 automatic. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

Are these a better clutch and have More lineing on them? Or are they Made of Some thing diffrent?  |

A type 2 auto transmission (003) will bolt right up without any mods, you just need to use the type 3 differential and pan. The only difference that I am aware of is the T2 has one extra clutch disc in it. I have rebuilt both t2 and t3 automatics, and the kits I use all have the extra disc included. _________________ OGST

Since you have done Both do you know where and what the rebuild Kit is for the Type 2 Auto and where you got it from? What were the Type 2 Auto Trans in? Thanks for every ones help in this quest to find a better Kit and Trans for Power Motors.

The type 2 003 transmissions were used through '75. The last kit I bought was from Makco Distributing:

It is for a Trike I built and it is an Auto , But you need to understand some thing ,There are Cars , There are Re storeable Cars and there is Junk ,i Play with the Junk that every one doesnt want . Thats what I build from , i dont ruin a good rebuildable car,Nuf said there . Dont take it personal but its better to peed off that on ya know , unless your into Golden Showers Yuck. Thanks for all the help every one has given on this .

It dont matter who ya sold the Parts to ,The Trans is a VW and i am Sure its alive and well weather its in a VW or a trike . We all have hobbies and we all like "Toys" and thats what its all about , having a good time in this life and do it with the toy of choice ,, if you have any more T003 trannys let me know ,i am always looking for them .
