I own a 1952 early dash split. I have purchased an almost complete 25 hp engine for it. (I sold the running 36hp it came with). My question is ..can I put 36hp cyls and pistons on my 25hp short block? I have the 25hp heads and studs and sleeve head nuts. Most important, I want to make sure that my 25hp cyl head tin will still fit without modification(using the sleeve nuts) before buying 36hp cyls and pistons. Can anyone definitely answer yes or no? Please email me at [email protected]
Thanks for your help...
Regards,
Alan |

I think you have to muck up the case to make the the cylinders fit.
My 47 had 36 pistons in the og 25 cylinders and it ran this way for many years and miles. |

You would have to flycut the heads and the case to fit the 36 hp cylinders.
I have heard that you can turn down the OD of the cylinders to make them fit but I wouldn't do that because the sealing surfaces would be incredibly thin. _________________ Chris
