I have two VW's currently, an 03 TDi new bug, and a 81 Caddy truck with a 16 valve Scirocco engine in it. I would love to convert the Caddy again this time to a Turbo diesel. My question is will the last series turbodiesels up to 95 or 96 which were throttle cable controlled, not electronic ie. not real, TDi's bolt up to the older A-1 &A-2 transaxles? I am running a tranny, I forget which code right now, which has a high numerical ratio first and a very low numerical ratio 5th in combo with a 3.94 final drive. I have other tranny's but I do want to use a 1.9 non electronic turbo Diesel if it will bolt up to the early trans.
Who can tell me, will it fit?
Thanks for the insight.
Peace, NOW!

I even used the 1.6 pump, |

Thank you!
Is the 1.6 pump needed or can I use a 1.9 non electronic pump? I am going from 16 Valve gasser back to Diesel and have none of the Diesel parts anymore.
Thank you for your reply.
