You have got sucked into the "bigger is better" school of though, for a stock 1600 you have allready over cammed it with the 110.

You need to think of an engine as a pipe, if you put lots of differant sized bits of pipe together and the put water through it, the flow of water will only be as fast and the smallest bit of pipe allows.

So basically you got a thin pipe (your stock engine) and put a big bit of pipe (110) in the middle, this isnt doing any good and is killing your bottom end.

To have a good engine you need to get the rest of the engine up to the size of the flow that the 110 is allowing.

Have a read here http://www.aircooled.net/gnrlsite/resource/articles/mods.htm

My list would be:

small duel carbs

sdva distributor to go with them
http://www.aircooled.net/new-bin/viewproductdetail.php?keyword2=IGD0001&cartid=

stage one heads (level3)
http://www.aircooled.net/new-bin/viewproductdetail.php?keyword2=IGD0001&cartid=

and a header http://www.aircooled.net/new-bin/viewproductdetail.php?keyword2=MEH0001&cartid=0818200753362122

And single quietpak muffler

You arnt going to do burnouts with a 1600 without braking either the engine or the gearbox.

Very Happy

I did this exact setup.....read here

Not wanting to hijack, but I have a fresh bone stock 1600DP(with a 31 carb) except for the bugpack header 1 3/8 (not merged)/hideway muffler exhaust.
I finally figured out how to dial in Kads on my buggy. I am assuming pretty much same deal as is being suggested - a pair of kads with an SVDA - just for curiosity sake, this should give me about 8 or so HP over stock carb - sound about right?
