help,
i have a 74 thing with a 1600 stock engine. my problem is
that i am not getting oil to the rocker arms. i have tried every
thing. push rods are not pluged up. i checked the rocker
arms and the oil ports are clear. i have good oil pressure
about 45#. is there any one who can give me an idea
of what is wrong? i do not want to tear the engine apart if i
don't have to. any help would be greatly appreciated.

What makes you think the rockers aren't getting enough oil?

Get a can of motor flush and run it thru your motor. Make sure your motor is hot first because you dont want to drive around with it in your car. Let it circulate at Idle for 30 minutes or so but race the motor a few times in between.
If it does not work, get a can of carbon remover and run it thru the motor. Same way.
If it still does not work you will need to remove your pushrod tubes and blow air thru your lifters.
What happens is that the holes in the lifters that pass the oil are too small to begin with and they get clogged very easy with carbon and sludge.

If this does not work, you will need to pull your motor.

with the valve covers off and engine running there is just
a trickle of oil coming out . it should be blowing oil across
my shop. plus the rocker arms are making a lot of noise.
clattering noise. thanks for your response.
