Very interesting! But, what holds it in place while driving (beside the hood latch)? It looks like it could just rattle off the back of the car. _________________ 69 Beetle

You can remove the engine with out jacking up the car, unbolt & slide it out the back. _________________

i'm not a big guy, but even i have to jack the car up just to get to the things under the car that need loosening and disconnecting before sliding the engine out... removeable apron does make engine removal easier, but i still have to jack it up.. _________________

theres a guy I met at a show recently, he takes his engine in and out a lot for repair etc, he did a nice job of making his removable, I have a pic under my fav photos here. He just drilled all the spot welds with a spot weld drill bit. It stays on the car because the fender bolts are all still there. Its very cool and should have been like that from the factory. _________________ Der Schmutzige Süden.

If he built the engine right, he wouldnt have to take it out so often. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

I was wondering who the first one would be to say that
Its a nice feature to have if your garage isnt huge, and its easy to do, its for clutch work etc, makes easy work of doing just about anything to it. _________________ Der Schmutzige Süden.
