Its not every day does somebody stop while your broke down on the side of the road. This past weekend on june 7th my wife and I were coming back from the Stevenson Al. bug blast, almost home to Dalton Ga. we smelt somthing burning, to my surprise i had smoke coming from the left rear tire, I pulled over immediatley, to check the prob., when almost right at that moment a Green VW bus stopped behind me and a silver VW rabbit in front of me. Forgive me I dont remember there names, But i do remember they were from CHATTANOOGA VOLKS FOLKS CLUB.. well it turned out to be the pads had pressed up along the drums and caused a bit of smoke. A easy fix with a screwdriver and i was on my way, now i had just bought the bug 2 weeks prior and just getting started on my vw so im new to it all and would not have known how to adjust the brakes if those two gentleman had not stopped so, Thanks so much guys!! maybe well run into eachother again, I cant wait to get started on my 73 project...

Hey dragger, I was at Stevenson but I wasn't part of the group that stopped on the drive home, we must have left earlier. Thanks for the kind words about our club.

Since you are right in our back yard, we'd love to have you join us in future club events. Check out our website at http://www.volksfolks.org/ for upcoming dates, and we have a lively forum too at http://www.volksfolks.org/forums/ as well.

We're a very active club in the Chattanooga area and we appreciate all types of VWs. We're family oriented and we have lots of get-togethers. We meet once a month on the third Monday for an informal meeting and we have a cruise-in on the first Friday of every month.

Our next club meeting is Monday, June 16 at 7:00. It's at China Moon in the Eastgate Town Center on Brainerd Road in Chattanooga. We'd love to have you drop by.

Thanks again!
