Searched, and didn't find anything on what different colors people are using on stock wheels. Mine are stripped, primered and ready for paint. I was thinking 2-tone with body color as the car is about to be painted, but I'd like to see some examples of what others are rolling before the spray gun comes out.

Thanks!

depends on the rim. I have the 4 spoke rally rims on mine and they are painted silver. in dire need of a sand blasting and a fresh paint job, but the look good in silver. post a pic of the rim so we know what we are looking at.

EDIT - Sorry, I just realized your post was for stock wheels, slotted I'm assuming. Although mine are stock super bug wheels.

It's a manufacturing process called water transfer printing. We use it where I work. It's what most of the wood grain and carbon fiber interior stuff on a lot of Toyota's and even Cadillacs are done with. Glad you like it, most people think it's cheesy! We do a few wheels for Giovanna and some interior trim for oem car manufacturers.

In my opinion, black wheels work nicely, if you rock whitewalls. Otherwise, I'd be partial to a color matched ring with a black center, like a 2-tone wheel basically. That is my $0.02

Thanks for the photos. I have slotted standard wheels and I'm thinking body color inner wheel and silver or white outer wheel.

I'm not sure about the black wheels...makes it hard to see the slots which I think is a cool part of the stockers... I do like the whitewalls, but after new brake system parts, rebuilding the motor, new suspension parts, carpet, interior and paint...I'll probably just slap on some Kumhos...other projects call...

Those are sweet, but I've already invested quite a bit of time in stripping, bead blasting and priming my steelies...

...anyone else with pics of how they've painted theirs?

Not really a decal, it's an ink pattern on a vinyl film. It's spread out on a water tank and an activator is sprayed on it to dissolve the film. The ink pattern is left floating on the water and the part is pushed through this so that the pattern is left on the part. It's as durable as any painted wheel, we put clear coat over it.

Cool, thanks for the info. I checked at my local Advance, Car-Quest, and Napa with no luck. I'll check Auto Zone and Pep Boys Next.

Nice photos. Thanks for posting 'em! Anyone tried body color centers and silver or white outer? (That's what I'm leaning toward, but I'd like to see 'em on a car rather than BugSelecta) Very Happy

Looking good! I like the way those trim rings work with these wheels. How much does the carbon fiber application cost?
