Oil fill tower baffle. What year engine did you find that in? I have seen them before, but forgot where.
rare part indeed. {I bet IN2VWS will post a scan of a catalog showing it with metallurgical makeup, dimensions, weight and years of use.... } _________________ John Henry

Those oil baffles were supposedly being reproduced by Speedwell USA for $12. They were showcased in Hot VWs magazine in the May 2005 issue |

I think Ray Schubert had them made - I've seen them around the shop in the past. Let me know if you need one and I can ask him if there are any left.

Kept oil from splashing up out of the oil filler if you took off the filler while the engine was running. And actually, given the weak design of the split oil fill "cap", might have kept oil from hitting the underside of it and leaking out at higher revs. _________________ John Henry
