I posted about this car a bit back and then the thread was locked (?). I viewed the car today. Black w/ red interior. 43 miles on the odometer which seems to be the distance b/w dealer and the car's home. The car is a legitimate survivor w/ legitimate paperwork. The current owner received the car from the estate of an friend who had what appears to have been clinical obsessive/compulsive disorder. The car was dusty when I saw it so I cannot speak to the luster of the finish but it is in very excellent shape and appears to have never spent a night outside. At this time, he does not have a key to the ignition. Another hook is that the owner quoted me $39K to buy it. That's a pile of money for a beetle.

That would be a good deal on Barrett Jackson!

I do. The car is in a garage w/ a bunch of other stuff and it's way cold here...so the pics reflect the same. Apparently pics need to be loaded to a site then linked...I hope to do that soon.

If he really wants that price he is looking for a BIG sucker. If that vehicle had been taken off the line, rolled to the dock, brought to America, rolled to the dealer, bought and driven to that garage and parked where it sat to this day, I still don't think it would be worth that price. A total frame off, numbers match, restored split might be worth that much. Shocked

By golly you newby folk need to put at least the state you are in why the big secret.
For 39K I dont think so not even here on the SAMBA.
Now maybe 3.9K that is more like beside the car would hve to be gone through all rubber parts in a garage would be gone.

It looks original. Contact Barrett Jackson with the pics and ask them what they think they could get for the car. If they think they can get more than that, then it is a deal. It may be worth buying and selling at auction. You never know. Considering that the person wants such a high dollar amount, they have probably had it appraised for that. Appraisal value and auction value are something totally different.

Post the pics on this site.... there is a "gallery" and it's more stable than most of the other "hosting" sites that pics dis appear off of in a short time.

This is a case of "pics or it diddn't happen" (why the other thread was locked)

39K? good luck

The only thing that comes up when I search "pancuronium" is a picture of a cat and a picture of syringes used in executions. No "barn find"

Post the pictures in the gallery

Very nice bug... not $39K nice though! Someone might give that on Barrett Jackson, but I can't imagine a private party sale for this bug going for that much.

Wow, she's a beauty! Like it was frozen in time. But yeah, like another poster mentioned, the rubber parts (hoses and such) are probably long gone or ready to disintegrate. So while things may look nice, it probably will need a little work.
39K would be a great price if this bug is like Captain America and was frozen in a block of ice and didn't age, but just sitting in a barn doesn't count Smile.

Yeah, 39K is out of my price range. But just how many '69 Beetles, frozen in time, with under 50 miles on 'em exist?

As long as you can find someone with a big enough checkbook, it'll sell.

Freaking amazing that it sat so long unmolested!

Schwing!

Wish there were more pictures. Documenting the details would help folks restore other '69's correctly. More interior, motor, trunk, and under the car shots would be great.
