A Vintage Volkswagen Car Show
Sunday, July 26th, Lavallette, NJ
Philadelphia Ave. & Bay Blvd., At the Park by the bay.
I couldn't find anything on this show for 2009. I'm trying to book a friends condo for the weekend.

Yes, the date is the final Sunday in July.
This year, Sunday July 26th.

Heading for the Bay Breeze Motel, Seaside, midday tomorrow. I think a few VW folks will be staying at this place.

I just finished up making the awards for the show.
They look really nice this year.
I always try to make up something not like your normal plastic carshow trophy.
Another great thing about this show is that it takes place "Down the Shore" on a busy Summer Sunday, so the majority of people checking out the cars are not people with a car in the show. We do spectator judging for "People's Choice" and "Kid's Choice", handing out ballots to anyone who wants one.
This means the non-VW public gets to decide who wins the show.
I was worried about that at first, but every year the voting leads to a great selection of the cars on hand.
And good news, Accuweather and the National Weather Service are calling for hazy, hot, and humid, with the thunderstorms not hitting until after 9pm.
Hopefully, we won't get our normal end of show cloudburst.
As always, we'll get the awards done around 2pm. Plenty of time to beat the Shore traffic home.

Another thing,
Last year we opened up the show a bit.
The show was for Pre-1980 VW's in the past.
However, due to requests, we now are opened for entries of VW buses of any year. So you Vanagon and Eurovan owners are welcome to attend.
Along with your pre-1980 beetles, ghias, buses, things, etc...

Well, I had some issues arise from my joruney to Bound Brook and back, so I need to get that worked out before any more long trips in it. I will definately have it up at the AACG.

I think it's running too hot, and I do need to do an oil change on it and check the valves. I got the notch all dolled up so we'll be arriving in style!

IMPORTANT UPDATE:
Due to the Inclement Weather, and potential for further Severe Thunderstorms between 10am and 4pm, we have cancelled the car show.
