Hi,
I have a 62 bus with a beetle gearbox conversion and bay front end suspension.
Rear brakes are standard beetle drum brakes. Front has highlight bay disc brakes.
Could someone please confirm if this setup will work with a standard brake master cylinder as per image.
Thanks
Alistair

You could probably make it work.. the bay buses have a sort of pressure "limiter"(in a very limited sense of the word) from '71 up, which is the first year of front discs/rear drums. It's mounted to the left inside frame rail up front and reduces or stops pressure to the rear drums based on vehicle motion. _________________ Robert in Memphis

I’m pretty sure bay masters are larger. You want a master that is designed for your brakes. _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

From what we understand, discs require more brake fluid to work. So better to use a 1971-79 bus MC that was designed for disc brakes. _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |
