I cut an access panel maybe 6 x 10 inches in my 1970 sedan, to access #3 and #4 spark plugs, which were behind/under the AC compressor. I used a piece of sheet metal to seal that, with a hex head screw at each end to hold it. Maybe I can take and post a photo this weekend, PM me Friday. _________________ 1970 VW (owned since 1972) and 1971 VW Convertible (owned since 1976), second owner of each. I have no problem getting to the intake manifold nuts.

I'm running the HiPacs from the previous post and they're extremely well made. All the Hooky's Panel Shop bits are great.

I don't need to do this, although it may make things easier. Removing those covers is one extra headache. I can get my carbs and all off without doing some cutting of the car. I have to use a similar setup with my ratchet, and different connections, but I can get the job done with dual Dell 40's installed. It's a bit of a pain, but I don't see how this really makes it any easier in the end. _________________ '62 VW Bug Sedan (Ruby Red)

It does make it easier to change plugs, get to manifold nuts, etc......BUT, IMO I wouldn't cut the car if it isn't already. Mine were done when i bought it. _________________ '67 Sunroof
