Is this the part#211843359B for the 2 top sealed rollers guide bearings
or
is it the 1 roller bearing on left side of the image that supports the door in the track
http://www.bughaus.com/Hinge_roller_-_211843359B.htm
or better price here
http://www.eisparts.com/211843359B.html

EDIT left side of the image is the Hinge Roller 211843359B
Also found another post that show this
http://www.mcmaster.com/#3434t23/=194civ

Not answering you question, but I was able to replace them with a couple bearings I found at my local hardware store, alot cheaper and quicker and going through one of the oem suppliers.

The larger grooved guide roller's part number is;
VW #251-843-161-price $120.57

The two support roller's part number is;
VW # 251-843-423-A price, $35.92 ea.

You'll run into problems locating a new guide bearing from any bearing supplier.
I think VW had a lock on that.

If you need that bearing, or the other two, I have a set of the three you'll need in perfect shape.

Well, since skateboard bearings are pretty much the same size, and every skateboard wheel is manufactured to fit those bearings, you will be pretty safe to walk into any skate shop and ask for wheel bearings. Bring your old one with you to compare (and a pair of calipers for measuring).

Or, maybe you can call these guys with some detailed measurements:

good luck!

I like that--

Skateboard bearings are about the same size--

How much is "about"

Didn't know we were playing horseshoe's, where close is good enough--

I have the three bearings in front of me.

No number's on the small support roller's, and the guide roller has RSM on the caged plastic piece which won't get you anywhere.

I've already been to Berry Bearing with the guide / grooved roller.

It ain't available.

I'm glad I could bring joy to your life!

The skateboard bearings are all the same size. The wheel and truck design for skateboards hasn't changed in 20 years. The ID of the bearing is the same and is designed to work with any truck manufacturer. So, if the bearing fits on the van, that would be a real cheap alternative to the $100 bearings you priced.

The skateboard roller's have the same ID & OD and the outer race has a 1/8th U groove cast in it?

Or are you talking about the two guide roller's that have smooth outer races?

They say the skateboards bearings are a replacement for the 2 guide rollers
in my image above its the 2 bearings on top

& I think that http://www.eisparts.com/211843359B.html
is a replacement for the part# you find as 251-843-161
on the 83-85 slider
see the bd chart here

No Terry, I edited my post, sorry. I meant to say that the skate bearings are all the same size due to standardization. ID and OD. Not that they are the same size as the slider bearing.

I do not know off the top of my head about the U groove, but it sounds and looks right. Pic:

I used to make longboards in my shop as a hobby but I haven't done any in a couple of years.

just as an FYI, skateboard bearings can cost from $10-$50 for an 8 pack. I just happen to have been randomly looking at them the other day at my buddy's skate shop.

UPDATE
Found a skate shop I deliberately BOUGHT the cheeepest chinese bearing they stocked $1 for each as an experiment to see how long its gonna last
they are a PERFECT FIT I mean ID, OD & width(thickness)
And looks looks there is no thrust stress on the upper 2 glide bearings
so not sure they need any real performance

sorry TK looks that is not quite true

getting off the old 1 required cutting it off with a dremmel

see here

http://members.shaw.ca/trclark/vwvan/P4020017.JPG

If these fail I'll will splurge & by the most expensive they have a fully seal units with roller bearings $10/bearing made in US of A

<<<sorry TK looks that is not quite true>>>

again you guy's are talking about the two horizontal support bearings.
The picture that popped up here looks like the skate bearings might work--just as long as the mounting shaft ID , and the outer race OD is the same.

And Again I'm going to tell you once more that the vertical guide bearing , that has the "U" channel cut in it, you ain't gonna locate in any toy store.

If and when you do, be sure to post the name of the store, the bearing number, and the mfg. of that bearing.

It is quite true--and it ain't gonna happen.

It looks like one of them might work--buy a couple of them and let the list know which one is it.

I'm in a different position than you guys fixing/ hacking away/ shoemakering on your Vans'

I rebuild the rear sliding door hinges for other folks who aren't quite as inventive, adept, as you are.

I can't afford to have a roller skate, Radio Flyer Wagon, or baby buggy wheel bearings fail.

I buy the right stuff at VW, the bearings spacer's, o-rings , springs, pins, bushings, seals, and have a failure warrantee if the parts for some reason go bad.

I have no inclination to jip the job, just for the sake of getting the job done on the cheap.

I do the repair one time and it's done for another 20 some years--or until the Vehicle turns to dust--whichever comes first.

It's a top priority, and the job is done right.

You guy's can do what you want with your vehicle's.

Brand X parts aren't in my vocabulary.
