I just got done building a manx for a gentlman named Aaron in New Jersey, that just shipped out this week. It turned out very nice, and I figured I would share the build with The Samba folks. I did not choose the colors, but being from San Diego, it reminds me of a Charger theme. All in all Iam very happy with the finished product and I hope Aaron is as well.
Here are some pictures for you.

I like the box that contains the battery, and the other wiring connections. Is that something that you made, or bought? That is a great idea. Makes use of some of that dead sapce just above the transmission.
Looks nice...even though I usually don't like the full length Manx Clones. _________________ Tube Bender Rental in So. Cal.

Actually guys, I am kind of jaded. It is my car and I am anxiously awaiting its delivery. For all of those who are wondering, yes it is possible to build a buggy 3,000 miles away from each other as long as you have a very good guy like Manxxman to work with via phone, email, etc.
He is very patient, customized the build to exactly what I wanted, and came up with some very good ideas on the fly as the build was progressing.
I will let you all know how I like it when I get it. |

You have a right to be jaded, I have a right to be jealous. That is a first rate buggy. Love the smoked plexiglass top, the battery box and so many other features.
A guy with less social skills than I would flat out ask you how much a buggy like that costs to build, but not me............
Worth every penny I'm sure, top notch. _________________ Gary

Very nice! I was wondering about the seats. The fronts seam to be the typical poly or glass seats but are the covers custom? Are rears custom also? I'm still trying to figure out what i'll be sitting on in my project.
Thanks |

Hey Scott, Id also like to know a little more about the battery box.
Ive got a 2110 with CB's fuel injection that I will be swapping in to my buggy soon and that tray would be a perfect place for the FI control module. _________________ Longbody build http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=266189&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

Yes, the seat covers are custom. Pretty much the whole buggy is custom and new. The few things that were reused from the original donor car have all been rebuilt as well. |

Yes, but the molds are pretty old and don't look as nice as these do. If you wanted a show quality car, it would have to be painted. |

Hey Auqamanx, we build the battery boxes here at our shop out of seaboard. They have to be welded together. The plastic isn't affected by UV, battery acid, or moisture. They are very durable and look pretty nice to. You would have to call me to get a quote, we build them custom to the aplication. It should work well to protect the computer. |

I can custom order you the seats and have them drop shipped to your door, Give me a call (760)744-8909 Scott. They are a full suspension seat, not a poly seat. |

I'm not looking for a show quality kit. What do you charge for a solid color? |
