I have seen one or two, they were on 68 and later cars.
I have never seen one for a earlier model. _________________ It's not about the window, it's about the people.

YES
I have always been partial to those VWs, especially the Cabrio's with the clear engine deck lids

haha, yep.
Not sure if the current digital cameras can do it, but on my old 35mm camera you could do multiple exposures on the one frame.
So, I set up the camera on a tripod, then measured what the exposure should be for a normal shot.
Then you set the camera to take a pic with the engine lid open, at half the measured shutter speed. Then take the second pic at the same settings with the engine lid shut. _________________ ( ⫏ ⫐ )

Just dont put a decklid on it at all and tell everyone it is there but clear. Even go through all the motions of opening and closing it as if it is there.
Be cheaper and just as dumb. _________________ OGJHC

Just use proper plastic wax to protect the plastic deck lid.
There used to be a guy making them in Mexico and a guy used to sell all clear plexiglass ones at J-bugs / Calif. Pacific interiors, but that was many years back. No '67 year but I think they were '68 - '79 type.
You could see the bondo repair in the master in the finish part.
I had thought of doing them like the above technique with using a metal OEM deck lid, cutting out a section and then using Polycarbonate sheeting and cal look rubber to mount it...but I have far too many other better products to work on these days. _________________ Werksberg Products....Products that work!

I like this one better, Can't do the double exposure with a digital today, all needs to be done in photoshop, I've done a few in this style, but not of cars.
Great photos.
