All big engines built need good flow and to match an engine of 2017cc means it is very wise to spend on a very good exhaust system. I have read great reviews on the A1 mainly also it being better priced than the CSP product, but many complain the exhaust produces an irritating drone. Confused

The CSP Super Competition Exhaust system has equally good reviews and a nice product especially if one wants to keep the twin pipe look.

I have never used either exhaust before and would really like to hear especially from users of both systems. I have heard that the CSP system has a better sound and is a superior system by large. Is this true?

Why not just make a custom set of wires with a Y splice in them. Then you could just run one distributor.

I don't think electrickery works that way

If your in the USA then its financially not sensible to be buying a European product as the price is just being jacked because of exchange rates and shipping.
The The CSP Super Competition Exhaust system to me is basically a very expensive twin quiet pack, if the mufflers had been in series rather than divided it would have been a lot quieter.
ou could call A1 and ask for different muffler options

With the few of you recommending the CB sidewinder, how does it fair against the A1. Like to know the finish and whether it has a similar sounding system or louder, and/or suffers less drone. The CSP system I was told has a better and deeper sound in stainless steel and do not suffer from any form of drone.

Does any one of the system above in particular perform better against the other?

You will find it almost impossible to find anybody who has compared both systems on the same engine on a dyno, so comparative performance figures are not around.

You will find few (if any) companys put any performance info on there adds, as most systems sell on cool looking prettyness Rolling Eyes

I run A1 sidewinder header but i build my own muffler for it, so i dont know of any drone.

Whats is a drone to you might sound awesome to the next guy so I dont see how anyone is going to tell you if you ill like the sound of the muffler A1 use over the internet.

Is this a drone? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VE9q0785ZNk

What are you putting it on? There is no magic exhaust system out there that makes more power than another in every circumstance. If you want to ensure you get the proper system that provides that last 0.xxx% of horsepower out of your combination do the math. Then have a custom system made for YOUR engine. Any off the shelf system is a compromise considering the thousands of engine combination possibilities. The A-1 is a great system that will suit the majority of NA combination's, sounds great and is made here in the USA. CB's is made in the UK somewhere and CSP in Germany.

My current ride is a stock 1200. so really haven't tried anything else but the stock exhaust. I know there will never be a perfect exhaust for the engine I intend to build unless going custom, but just wanted get opinions to help me on making a decision.

Krusher, I agree with you that one man's meat is another's poison. The drone I am referring to is the low humming sound that is especially present during highway cruising. For normal city driving I think it sounds great, like this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqiH6GQ4OKY .

Refer to the thread : What's a good exhaust system to buy? 2007cc type 1
Shorrock contributed : "I run an A1 Sidewinder and really like it just make sure you have the exhaust extended toward the rear about at the bumper not turned down underneath like normal. The turned down version is loud, kicks up dust/dirt and causes a significant drone inside".

I like to know has anyone used the A1 sidewinder like the one mentioned above on a T1? ......... surprised none has used the CSP Super Comp system?

Is the vintage speed system any good and will it work well on a 2017cc? = http://www.vintagespeed.com.tw/Exhaustsystem/Exhaustsystem02.html

Thanks alot guys for the patience and help. I really appreciate all the input and keep the contributions coming please.

hello Mint Jams , vintage speed exhaust system is more like stock looking and quiet option. However merge header always great for higher RPM.

Ronnie from Busoration did some test here:

Here is our test on 1914 with kadron

I run the A1 and really like it but would have Tiger put an extension tip on to get the sound out the back instead of under the car. I had to put the tip on myself and it made a huge difference in the level of "noise" and drone inside the car. It now has a nice performance sound and look. My engine is staying a lot cleaner as well now that the turned down exhaust is not kicking up all that road dust.
